The large number of buttons can be daunting at first, but you soon realize that buttons are a lot easier to find and press than having to dig down through a complex set of menus! All the most needed settings are available directly without menus - including ISO speed, white balance, bracketing options, exposure compensation, single or continuous exposure...

This lens produces very crisp images, and the VR option works well. It's quite a bulky lens, and sometimes it has trouble "deciding" what to focus on in auto-focus mode, but those are small drawbacks in comparison to the distortion-free images and excellent resolution

This lens came with the D50 as part of the kit. It's a decent lens for average pictures, but it's range isn't wide or long enough for many shots. The quality of the image seems to be pretty sharp, but the aperture isn't large enough for indoor or low light. This is a decent starter lens, but should be replaced with something better as soon as possible
