Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (350D)

Feb 21, 2008 09:00 PM EDT

I bought a Canon Rebel XT (350D) when I was in Australia and had 'mislaid' my Canon 300D (long story!). It came as a kit, with EFS 18-55mm and EF 75-300mm lens. The 350D is slightly smaller than the 300D, so it's easier for me to hold. Most of the features are the same as the 300D, although there is a setting to take black and white photo's. The camera is very user friendly and i...

Canon PowerShot G3

Feb 19, 2008 12:39 AM EDT

The Canon Power Shot G3 is a very nice top end digital point and shoot camera. It's a great backup camera that is easy to carry around and it fits in most larger jacket pockets. It is a tad slow when using the auto focus but with a little practice you get use to that. It has all of the setting that you get with a DSLR and you can even buy a lens adapter and get different lenses for it. Findi...

Canon EOS 20D Camera Review

Jan 08, 2008 04:37 PM EDT

Review by Solaria This camera has been discontinued for a while, and due to the life span of digital cameras, I wouldn't recommend buying one used (unless it was completely overhauled) but this has been a good little camera for me. Never locked up, never shut down, never failed to focus, meter or release the shutter when I asked it to. I've had it for some time now and couldn't imagi...

Nikon D200 Camera Review

Jan 07, 2008 02:18 PM EDT

Review by Sgbrown This is a superb camera. The large number of buttons can be daunting at first, but you soon realize that buttons are a lot easier to find and press than having to dig down through a complex set of menus! All the most needed settings are available directly without menus - including ISO speed, white balance, bracketing options, exposure compensation, single or continuous exposure...

Canon EOS Digital Rebel 300D

Jan 06, 2008 11:27 PM EDT

Review by Jas I have been using the Canon Rebel 300D, since 2005. I bought it as a second digital camera, moving up from a small compact digital which I used previously. I only have the 'kit' lenses at the moment, which are an EFS 18-55mm and an EF 75-300mm. Since I am still very much an amateur, I think these are quite adequate for a beginner. I would like to acquire a macro lens, as on...

Leica M8 Camera Review

Jan 06, 2008 02:05 PM EDT

I have been a Leica fan since the late 50's, owning an M3 and several lenses, so when the digital M8 came out, I had to buy it. Most of my lenses are from the M3 and they work great. Imagine that, 50 year old lenses that are sharper than any of my current Nikon or Olympus lenses. My latest purchase was a 21mm Zeiss Biogon. Since it is not full frame, I needed a wider angle than my 35mm. How...

Nikon D50 Camera Review

Dec 21, 2007 01:12 PM EDT

The Nikon D50 was the first Nikon DSLR that I could afford to buy. It came with a 28-80mm kit lens and was around $500 for the kit. Prior to owning the D50, I had a N60 35mm film SLR camera that I loved. Film was too expensive to waste shooting practice shots, and thus I moved into the more affordable point and shoot digital cameras when they first came out. I missed having the versatility of an...
