Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor Lens

For the price, this is a great lens to own. I use this lens to shoot indoors because the aperture is so big that I hardly ever need to use a flash especially when I raise the ISO to 1600. The only downside is that 50mm (75mm film equivalent), is a little long for full body shots indoors but is great for close ups. Because of close quarters indoors, the subject area tends to be around 3-4 feet tall (so half a person's height). With that limitation in mind, it works great for candid photos, shots of babies and kids, 1/2 body, and close-up portraits. It would also work well for concerts assuming you're within about 30 feet of the stage, and other situations where a flash is inappropriate.
