About This Image

I found it so unique and vibrant that I had to capture it. Captured in Butchart Gardens, Victoria, British Columbia. Thank you for solving the mystery Alandrapal and Anne!

What a BEAUTY!!! I loved the brilliance of the blossoming flowers, the yellow and red of the buds as they blossomed out along the stalks. Bold and Magnificent!!! And happy to see the name, Crocosmia Montrebetia. If Lucifer is really red as often depicted than the flower is well named and very beautiful whatever the name. *G* Either way the name of a flower to look for and be cheered in the viewing.

yes, it's Crocosmia or Montbretia, this one is "Lucifer" I believe. We have it in our garden. The hummingbirds love it. It grows from small corms, and it doesn't start blooming until the corms grow one ontop of the other, which is the 2nd year I think. (I also live in British Columbia, near Vancouver :)
