Hi Mary, it is a beautiful place, I'm sorry to say I havent being baack, our daughter has moved further south, there is just so much to see, beautiful place.

Thankyou Vicki, the north Island is generally green, and heaps of places to see, but the south you need to be there 12 months, as every season is so different and the changes so dramatic. and the colours. both island have heaps to see, I hope you make it here some day.

Thankyou Ann for looking in, Yes it is snow, the small dust patch we went to check out is the small patch at the base of the mountan on the far right, everything above that is snow, a great place to visit, there's nothing out there but with a camera in hand there's everything out there. Every way you turn theres another interesting view.

Gorgeous is right!! I fell in love with this scene. The white tipped mountains, the white-dust covering the mountains. I thought it was snow. The barren look and then the scrubby little bushes. I don't know what they are but what a wonderful scene you captured for us. Thank you.

Thankyou Karien and Carol, we drove right over to where you can see the white coloured dust on the right, turned out to be just top dressing, but well worth it.
