About This Image

Lily of the Nile, or Agapanthus, growing in the garden beside our front patio. This didn't bloom last year, think the dahlias crowded things out, so I moved the dahlias this spring, and then this blue Lily of the Nile showed up. Am surprised it overwintered in the garden, as it's a native plant of South Africa.

I was recommended this web site by means of my cousin. I'm not sure whether or not this post is written by way of him as nobody else understand such exact about my trouble. You are amazing! Thank you! http://eduhints.eu

Ann, sorry I just saw your query about which growing zone we're in. Will have to check with the garden centers, as there was some confusion about our area, - the gardening books say one thing, but the nursery owners in our area said different, and now I forget what they said! All I know is that we have a lot of plants that do overwinter outside, and some palm trees overwinter outside also!

thanks again, all of you, Ann, Janice and Jas, appreciate the nice comments, glad you liked it. This one didn't bloom at all the first year, infact I was surprised when it showed up this spring. It got crowded out by the dahlias last summer, so we moved them in the spring. The pineapple plant and this one, are in that little area by the front steps, Jas. I believe the window beside the front door, gives the plants some warmth during the winter.

Gorgeous shot of your Agapanthus Alandra. We've bought one this year but it's not as established as yours and didn't have quite the number of blooms that yours does. :)

Alandra nice color, texture and clarity. I like the decorative watermarks on your photos.

What a beautifully captured bloom, Alandra. Nice composition. What zone are you in for growing flowers? It has a nice showy appearance.
