We have a kauri tree growing in part of our garden and this is the firsy time that I have seen cones on it, A native tree to New Zealand

Thanks Tania, they seem to be very slow growing, mind you I'm not to sure how big they grow to either, I'll keep an eye on them.

This is a native to New Zealand, it produced the gum that the gum diggers looked for years ago, have have some but only quite small pices, thanks for looking in

we have being here 19 years and this is the first time I have seen cones on it so I have no idea how big the grow, it will be interesting to watch.

interesting to see this, Lorraine. The markings on the surface remind me of markings on a pineapple : )
