About This Image

this is the lovely white poppy, as it is growing up the back lane, all alone. notice the crumpled petals, guess it had just opened.
anyway, it's captured forever now, so isn't blooming in vain.

Hi Joyce, sooo good to hear from you! Have often thought of you. How are you and yours? Look forward to seeing more of your photos here soon too. You were one of the people whose work I admired so much while I was still learning how to remove the date from the pics lol

haha, Lulu, we'll hafta stop meeting like this : ) seriously tho', do know what you mean re it being a busy time coming up for you now, as you are just coming into your busy garden season, whereas our gardens will soon be going to sleep in this part of the world. We've been really noticing how much work it's been this summer, keeping up with it all, watering and tending all the planters and hanging baskets and garden itself, - gluttons for punishment that we (DH and I) must be : ) -- and to be honest are looking forward to things quietening down a bit, not that we want this wonderful Indian Summer weather to end. - but half the time I didn't feel like going out after rushing to get everything watered before we could leave lol. anyway, will sign off now. glad to see you here. thankyou for the comment. Alandra

Hi Alandra. Thanks for your comment on my winter rose picture. I wasn't meaning to sound like a real moaner. I was just thinking that I might give it a break for a while as it seems to be quite a busy time of year for me and a lot of other people it seems. Sometimes there isn't really many new photos posted and I don't get much time to put on many comments. Thats probably why I don't get a lot of comments on my photos. I wasn't saying that I didn't think my photos measured up, just that I am a real amateur and thought that a few comments might help me to improve my photography a bit. Unfortunately, living in the countryside in little old New Zealand, I only get a dial-up connection on my computer and thats really not that fast. As a result, photos can take a while to upload. Therefore, I am trying to limit my photos to real "special" ones as I tie up the phone line for too long and my husband can sometimes be like a teenage girl as far as the phone is concerned. I do have a couple up my sleeve though after a trip away at the weekend. A friend took us out on a boat to look at some maori carvings done in rock. They were really neat and I'd like the rest of the world to experience their beauty. Anyway, to cut this short (ha thats funny, its already a novel), I just want to let you know that you haven't seen the last of me yet. Thanks for your concerns. Oh yeah, this poppy is beautiful. I love the textures in it.
