I did see her in Maine. I was visiting a local bird rehabilitation center walking the trails and she was in the tree. I wasn't sure what kind or sex she was...cool to know.

I have a Kodak DX7590. I used Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10 to crop, sharpen, and improve the exposure. It feels too blurry to me. I have no idea what the shutter priority was...I'd only had the camera for a couple of weeks at the time and am quite a beginner at this...

nice woodpecker shot. did you know that "they" designed motorcycle helmets based on testing done on the rate woodpecker's beaks/heads strike at the trees to find their food. That's what we heard.

You must have had the shutter priority set really high to catch this guy's head in movement. What equipment and software do you have? Great shot
