Thank you, Alovely, Jas, Carol and Marysham, for all your kind words. I moved around so that the background was in shadow to contrast with the reflected light. This has not been a great year for wildflowers due to our drought so these flowers were being visited by hungry bees with three to four on each flower!

Very nice macro of the cactus bud. The tips of the petals look as if they might bite, just like the spines on the main stems. Lovely lighting and detail. :)

Karen, you captured such a beautiful macro of this cactus flower bud. The clarity is wonderful and I enjoy the dark background.
