About This Image

a continuation of area shown earlier in Where we Live 2. early Evening shot. Taken from outfront of the large Condo that is shown in the "Canoe launching First Nations" pic sent in recently.

The island in distance is one of the San Juan island chain in Washington State, USA. Am not sure which island that one is, should check a map : ) Know some names are Orcas Is, Lopez Is, San Juan Is.

The same chain of islands continues up into our area in BC Canada, and our islands are known as the Gulf Islands. (as they are in the Gulf of Georgia). Our Gulf Island names are Saltspring Island, Galiano Is, Mayne Is. Saturna Is, Thetis Is, Pender Is, Hornby Is, to name some.

thankyou Gary. Nice that you know "the area"/the islands, -yes you are right about them being beautiful. Would like to visit them more often. Was standing just outfront of the complex where the "pond" photos were taken. This is also facing south, which you probably realized, - and the BC Ferry Terminal (one of them) is just a couple minutes West of here. There was a GB Heron nearby in the grass here, and I did get a photo of it, but compared to others' pics of GB Herons and egrets, it's a pretty poor effort, so still hoping to get a better shot. - such is the photographer's life : ) I also captured another GB heron ontop of the piling where the little tug was tied, but that's so small too that hardly worth bothering about.

Nice shot, Alandra. I spent some time on those U.S. islands when we lived in Seattle. They are so beautiful.
