OK this gentleman was trying to launch some rope inot a tree inorder to set up an antenna. and with trhis sling shot he did just that.

I've used the same method for putting up antennas, and it generally works well. I had a slingshot with a fishing reel attached to provide a non-tangling line supply, with a one-ounce lead sinker at the end. Experience has taught me that it's important to take note of what's in the line of fire in case the line breaks, and to be sure the reel won't jam and cause the weight to fly back at you at high speed.
