In Memory of Lily - RIP

Lily, our much loved cat, was killed earlier in the week. We are all devastated. Please visit and leave a message. Myself, Michael and daughter Bianca would really appreciate it. I think Flame is missing her too. There are a few other photos in my gallery if you want to view them also.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. I once lost a cat named Smokey to the road. Later, we had another cat named Smokey. She died of natural causes, but it was just as hard to take. If you love your animals, it is quite a devastating loss.

Thanks for that Shirree. Its a lovely comment to leave.

Yes, the box does look brilliant - and Bianca will love it! For everyone else's information - Flame, Lurene's ginger cat, is truly special. He follows Lurene around like a little puppy, and has this funny little meow that almost sounds like a bark. He took to Lily like a fish to water when she arrived as a kitten at Lurene's house. He stole my heart for that alone. I have a lump in my throat just now thinking of wee Lily - but she had a wonderful couple of years with the perfect family for her (including Flame). Big hugs!!!!!

Thanks for that Mel. No, it wasn't Flame - thank goodness. We really love both of the cats but there is something extra special about Flame. He is always there whereas Lily was still just a little scared. I would have died myself if it was Flame. It was hard enough losing Lily. Well, as far as sharing my photos of my babies, there is only one now. I got this particular photo put onto a tile box for Biancas birthday (like the one you did for Shirree) and it looks brilliant.

Oh, I'm so sorry. Somehow I thought it was Flame that you lost to the road!

Don't for silly for sharing your photo's. They are your babies!

Thanks Doug for your kind words. A little while ago,I felt kind of silly that I had so many photos of my cats in my gallery. Now I am pleased that I took the time to share them. Its nice to see our loved pets as subjects - just like Wolf. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment, we really appreciate it.

I'm sincerely sorry for the loss of your friend and family member. The loss of a pet is always sad and we remember them for the joy they brought into our lives. We learn so much from them. Photography is the business of preserving memories.

Thanks Shirree. Yes, you know how we feel about our cats. You and Kim actually made her more sociable while we were in Canada (she got used to having a whole brood around) and I'm pleased to say that it was our cats that made Kim think he might like one. This touched my heart, much like your condolences. We are doing good. Still miss her but without us, she wouldn't have had the two wonderful years she did. Will get Flame another playmate someday. In the meantime, he gets loads of extra attention. He slept on Bianca's bed last night where Lily used to sleep. This made Bianca feel a bit better as she misses having her there. She would never sleep on our bed, just Biancas.

Sorry about my typos - I was very eager to get my condolences down, they are from the heart.

A beautiful shot of your wee beauty sis. She will be missed by all that knew her. I know how much your littles treasures mean to you - and my heart sank when I heard that sad news. RIP little Lil.

Thanks Alandra. I'll look it up.

Hi Lulu, re the Rainbow Bridge verse, if you do a Google search, am sure it will come up, as it is very well known here.

Thanks so much sparkle. Yes, she will certainly hold a special place in all our hearts for an extremely long time. Both of our cats were "rescued" cats so that makes them even more special to us.

My deepest sympathy on the death of Lily. I could defintely understand, as I have had one cat pass on over 10 years ago. I know she holds a special place in your and your families heart.

Thanks Talsi for your lovely comment. I took this photo at night and was kind of rare as I had bought this bean bag for both cats but our other cat Flame claimed it as his. Lily never really got a chance to go near it as she knew it was his domain. He would have let her though. Not sure where he was when this photo was taken but she was right at home on it.

So sorry to hear of your loss Pets ARE members of the family. And that is a beautiful photo with the light hitting her face just right.

Thanks Mary, Vicki and Alandra for your lovely comments and support. No Alandra, I am not familiar with that verse. As you would have seen in my gallery, my cats are my babies. Its not quite the same without her here. We live a little bit off the road so never thought something like this would happen. Why go on the road when there is acres of paddocks to wander in? Our neighbour found her but never realised she was ours. He buried her just up the road where he found her. We had been searching for her for 4 days before we found out. Poor Lily.

Am so sorry, Lulu and family. Understand exactly how devastated you feel, as one of our loved cats was killed too, ontop of other terrible events in our family, a few years ago. It was like "the last straw". Do you know the Rainbow Bridge verse?
