that's good to hear this, Lorraine, many thanks, -- am happy to know your grands enjoyed them, and I hope they find some squirrels someplace :)

Thanks so much for putting these photos on, I think they are great, with all the photo I thought that you might be quite over run with them, Tell hubby to leave them alone, I bet your photos have delighted people around the world, My grandsons thought they were great, the youngest wanted to know where he could get one. They have gone home tonight to find out if theres any were in NZ they can get one, thank you for the images.

thankyou Mary and Beverly for the nice comments. Hubby starts off getting kindof annoyed with the squirrels each year, but after awhile, when he knows I like them, and he sees the funny side of their antics :) -- he gives up and puts up with them lol

Hi Lorraine, thanks again, -- well, I thought it might be interesting to people who don't see squirrels where they live, so I put several different views up. I was also surprised when first seeing closer views of their paws etc. They also have quite "big" paw pads, - guess that helps them grip the branches etc. They also run quickly along telephone wires, it's amazing how fast they run along them, high up. Some squirrels in public parks, like our Stanley Park here and so forth, do have kindof "tame" squirrels that will take food out of your hand. My nephew had a squirrel sit on his head years ago when he was a youngster, at one park, - had a photo taken of it :) I've never known them to be savage, but guess they can defend themselves if they have to, as most wild critters can. We have about 4 of them around our property, 2 greys and 2 blacks, far as I know.

Cute capture of him. They will to to any lengths to raid a bird feeder. I don't mind it because they have to eat too and they are funny to watch but some people rig things up to try and stop them.

I didn't realise there claws were so long, but when you think about it climbing trees, lovely shot, can you tame them enough to hand feed, a friend of ours from England said that they were quite savage little animals, is that right?
