About This Image

Trying to subdue the background a bit I used a filter in my photo editing program as an experiment.

I love this shot. Also enjoying all the other scenes from your travels. What a great lifestyle for a photograher.

Thank you Gary and Alex - this one was on an island in the salt spring, so probably thought it was safe. I didn't have my tripod and was a bit nervous with the zoom. I didn't post all the images but have two more that I was rather pleased with too while it preened itself.

Wow. This is a great heron shot. I have tracked a few herons for photos, and they can be elusive subjects. You got this one good.

You did a very good job on the background. It's a beautiful shot.

Robert, I believe it's the smaller Blue Heron that looks more gray. The Great Blue has rather vivid coloring - unless it's that time of the year for them to be in their fanciest plumage!

I'll resubmit it unaltered and you'll see how he blends into the background - he was almost lost there

It looks great but I wish I could see the background. I do love the woods and birds.
