Edisto Landing

For the past several years, I have shot with Nikon. As I progressed in what I wanted to shoot, I found that (at least my combination) of lens and camera (D100 and D70 + 80- 400VR lens) did not lend itself to what I wanted to do. I made a leap of faith to the Canon system and have not regreted my decision one bit. This was the first shot, in a series, with the Canon. It has become one of my more popular photographs.

I love this shot. It looks like a triumphant fighter - the winner - and coming in for his "just desserts?" Sorry I couldn't resist. By any name, this picture is a winner!!!

Great capture of him putting on the brakes. Pelicans are my favorite shorebird.

just ret'd for another look at this photo. Still very impressed, wonderful capture. Just noticed that my previous comment was a few days beyond a year ago!

It turns out, that I have the same combination that you switched over to, - on my part more by luck as far as the lens goes, than by judgement : ) - as I knew very little about the various lenses. Am really happy with mine too, and hope to capture a shot like this sometime.

totally awesome! Thanks for explaining about the cameras, - had not seen this before re-asking the question : ) That Canon 20D and that lens are certainly very impressive! very tempting these shots are a great "ad" for both those cameras.
