Last yr (late fall) we had about 5 male and female yellow finches and were thrilled to see them in Arkansas! This year we have already had about 20 pairs (just in the past 3 days). What was your ISO? The composition is excellent, but there's a granular texture which leads me to believe that the ISO was very high unless resolution was lost in a conversion. Coloration is stunning.

I was Taking my daughter out test driving and we saw one of the yellow finch birds here in Parsippany, NJ. what a pretty yellow color it has with the black stripe going across the wing. Im didn't think these type of birds would be around here. hope we see more in the future. I think i'm going to put a feeder in my backyard.

However, in the past two weeks, we have noticed two male finches drinking from the feeders! We've fed them seed before but I've never seen anything like this before in my life. Finches drinking Hummingbird sugar water?? Has anyone else ever seen this happen and, if so, would anyone have an explanation for it? I'm just astounded. They are SO extraordinarily beautiful. I used to think they left each winter too, then realized that they change colours and it's easy to confuse them with sparrows at that time. Then when spring comes, the male goldfinches get their bright yellow feathers for the mating time, and the females are a dull greenish/yellow colour.
