Hi Susan, many thanks also for the nice comments - only just spotted them after replying to Alex's. Am always happy to see the warblers here each summer, - there's only ever the one pair of them that visits, far as I know. so far, haven't seen the female of this pair yet, this summer, but she must be around somewhere. She has a much more drab colour of her feathers.

again, thankyou Alex D. Just by luck I was at the window when this little guy stopped by. I've tried other summers to get a good image of these birds, with not much success as they are very timid. But this one seemed determined to bathe, so I was in luck. Re the lighting, it gets shady in that area in the late afternoon, due to the surrounding shrubs, but there was sun shining thru the leaves above the little fountain bath. I did capture a couple of images of the bird on the stems of the leaves, as it was moving down towards the water, but the light on the leaves is a bit strong, so those got a bit washed out. Must double check those images and see if I can use them.

Another stunning shot from your window. Just goes to show what you can accomplish with immense skill, a little bit of luck and an empty pocket. Nicely done. Looks like you had some additional light on the bird. Did you use a flash or was it simply natural light?

This is so lovely, love the blue sparkly bits round the edge of the bird bath and of course the yellow bird just sets it off, very pretty.

thanks Jas, it is a pretty little bird, very timid. It has nice big eyes. it's head is tilted a bit here, so you might not get the idea of the eye size.

What a beautiful little bird! His colours are gorgeous and he has such a bright eye. It looks a similar shape to a wren. Lovely shot Alandra! :)
