young Great Blue Heron at sundown. I believe he would roost here at night, or possibly in the taller tree nearby, that would have more cover for his protection.

glad you like it, Alex D and Don, and thankyou for the nice comments. I had to clone out loads of small twigs that seemed to detract from the image. The heron sits there and stares out over the beach which is right infront of him.

What a great capture, Alandra. An unusual shot of a Great Blue. I don't think I have ever seen one nesting. We had some white egrets nesting in a tree near here, but they were only there for one night and haven't seen them again.
