Yellow Warbler checking things out before it bathed. Front patio. captured from open front window. Initially I thought this was a Wilsons Warbler, but after checking a different bird book today, decided it's a Yellow Warbler female. So this explains why this one was acting a bit differently than the previous ones visiting the garden, as they were Wilsons Warblers and stayed farther back from the house. I was surprised when this bird ventured so close to the front of the house where I sit at the window.

Thankyou Don and Carol for the nice comments. Know what you mean, Don, they do resemble the female goldfinches, - one good thing is that they are smaller and they move differently and seem more shy. Was surprised this one came much closer to the house than they usually do. Not sure if it's a younger one or what. But we've been out a lot lately, so maybe its been visiting while there was nobody here and got braver : )

Cool Warbler shot Alandra. They sure wouldn't be too hard for me to mix up with a female goldfinch, just seeing one at a glance. Pretty bird capture, Don
