This was taken at Opunake Beach on Taranaki's Surf Highway 45 New Zealand.

I had never seen these birds before. at first i thought they were small seagulls but they are a different shape.

Hi All I have just found out these birds are called turns. I have a photo of 2 of them flying just above the waves and add it to my photos here

What a neat shot, of most of the birds facing the same direction. lovely setting too with the surf. gorgeous place.
