This is a chicory. Great shot. You have the D40 also. Isnt it lovely. I got the 35mm f1/8 yesterday lens and it is beautiful.

Chris I went to the internet:www.mywildflowers.com This is what it said: Chicory (cechorium intybus) Family- Asterceae-sunflower. 1-4ft tall blooms June-Octo Leaf- lobed. If you see this, check out the website...It's wonderful!!!

Ann, It's so beautiful it has to be a wildflower. The edge of the petals are very much like a single Coreopsis, it can't be related to them because they come in yellows and oranges. How about posting a 'Can Anyone Help' on TLF Message Board, in the mean time I'll keep looking, many thanks for sharing this image Chriss:)
