About This Image

The "Waimarie" was built in the UK, rescued from the mud of the Whanganui River and restored. All original except for Boiler. Oringinal maker Yarrow and Co. UK made an identical one for fitting. Lovely bit of history for steam buffs.

Thanks Lesley for adding that information. Hope your son got to ride on it after all the hard work.

The replica boiler was actually made at Easteel in Dannevirke, NZ. Our son worked on parts of the boiler when they were making it. It was made from the original plans. On the boiler is a plaque saying.. Yarrow & Co.Ltd Boiler (1899) Replica Designed and Manufactured (1998) by Easteel Industries Limited for the Paddle Steamer Waimarie.
