About This Image

One of the maple trees in the central Texas hill country near Vanderpool. Lost Maples State Park is very popular because of the brilliant fall foliage, a rare sight in this part of Texas. On this day the sky was overcast and the colors seemed deeper and more intense.

Thanks, Alandra. I found the monopod easy to use and it makes a good walking stick when hiking. The only negative was that I had to hand hold the camera for vertical shots. But it sure helps steady the camera.

missed this one earlier, very nice, wonderful colours. how are you enjoying the monopod? A store clerk and DH are encouraging me to try one, - am afraid I might drop it somehow.

Thank you, Chloegirl, for your encouraging comment. The steep hillsides in the park cause erosion for the trees to deal with.
