thanks for the nice comments, Alex and Don. Know what you mean Don, it is a heavy lens, which surprised me, as you might have seen in my early reply to Mary. Also, have had a reaction to the recent flu shot, so have been very "achy" & in misery for about 4 days, hurting with every movement :)

Cool capture alandra! Very nice shot. I'm having a time getting used to the 70x200L f2.8 (non IS). It weighs in a 2.7 lb. It's a handful compared to what I had used before, but I sure like it so far. Don

thankyou Mary for the nice comments. About the lens, yes, so far I really like it, altho haven't used it much yet, so am not that used to it. Thought it would be similar to the 100-400, but it's not. Was also surprised at its weight, expected it to be much lighter than the 100-400, but it's not. will have to check on the 2 different weights. We just got back from looking for the snow geese to "capture", no luck there, altho we saw a few flying over as we were travelling. However, I saw a small owl at the Waterfowl Refuge, so tried the 2 lenses out on that, - notice the new one is much better in low light, which is one reason for getting it.

Good capture of the Sparrow. Looks like it had a good soak and is throughly enjoying it. Do you like your new lens? Congratulations on the new addition.
