About This Image

Our Secret Garden. am sure many people have no idea our sunken garden exists, as it can't be seen from the cul-de-sac road out front. The garden is surrounded by tall shrubs, and it can't be seen until the end of the driveway closest to the house is reached, where the entrance gate is.
The garden is a riot of colour of flowers that attract the hummingbirds :) but this little area has pastel coloured flowers, pink coneflowers, white liatris and Russian sage in the lavender colour, plus the pink Park Princess dahlias in the background.

I agree with the previous comments; these flowers really compliment each other and make for a very pretty picture. :)

Hi again, everyone, Karen, Ann, Janice & Cindy, thanks for all the nice comments. I was sortof wishing I'd planted the tall white liatris behind the coneflowers, but this is how I view them when sitting at the window, which is where the image is captured from. Am going to get some images from the opposite direction, while out in the garden and see how that turns out. We got several different varieties of those coneflowers last summer, but most of the others didn't survive the winter, surprisingly, considering the South African plants did! There's one smaller coneflower plant that survived, but it's not going to bloom this year, too small.

Beautiful color and variety. Our flowers are not looking very good with all the extreme hot weather we are experiencing.

Alandra, this would make a beautiful calendar cover photograph. Your secret garden is so full of the different blooms and so beautifully captured. Wonderful clarity.
