Pretty Kowhai

Thanks Mel and Alandra. I have discovered that these can be quite hard to photograph. There is another native that has a similar looking flower to this but red and thats called a Kaka Beak. Shirree is going to get a photo of one for you Alandra. I have one in my garden but its not flowering yet. Oh, and the blossoms are nearly out on our lane of Cherry trees so that should be a real pretty shot. I'm going to have to learn to photograph things other than flowers though for a bit of variety.

have finally got round to viewing your version of the Kowhai flowers, Lulu. Good to see the different stages of development of these plants. I think the shadows look pretty here, the reflection of the pretty leaves. Such a lovely vivid yellow, - interesting how the buds seem to have a "green cast" to them, earlier.

I just realised I didn't comment on your photo Lulu. I love the way the light (Sun) is shining through. It's a beautiful photo and composition.

Thanks Tania. I really like the positive comments that the people on this site give. If you ever have any doubts regarding a photo, just put it on here and you are bound to get some positive comments regarding it. It really gives you a boost. Yes, I will leave the shadows on this particular photo.

Leave it how it is lulu. I think the shadows add more effect to the photo. I love this one

I'm a wee bit dissapointed with all the shadows on these though. May try some fancy editing to try and fix that, but in the meantime, this photo stays.

The wee leaves look really pretty and delicate just under the flowers. Kowhai flowers are quite unique in their shape.
