About This Image

another view of the hummingbird at the bleeding hearts flowers, this time with the wings "stopped".
captured from open front window, telephoto lens, same setting as the previous images. I believe being able to "stop" the wings also has something to do with the way the hummers are rotating them at the time the image is captured, as am not using any different settings or lens with each capture, and sometimes no wings show up, but other times they do :)

thanks again Don for the nice comments and info about the wing stop. Think you're right about that. Fascinating little birds.

Beautiful capture again Alandra! I think the wing stop has something to do with the tiny bit of pause in them when they change directions. I have noticed the same thing. They always seem to be near the limit of one direction or another when you capture them nearly stopped if that makes any sense. They sure are moving fast. Don

thankyou Lorraine, a friend gave us some small pieces (roots) of her plants a couple years ago, when we admired her large plant and they've done well and given us a lot of pleasure, as they bloom a lot earlier than many perennials here.
