thanks Don for the nice comments and the help ID-ing the merganser. That was one type that I didn't think of, having never seen one before. Will hafta brush up on the types of waterfowl.

Great set of pics Alandra! I looked in my book and I'd have to say it is a Common Merganser. Were there any females with them? They have a pretty rust colored head. Nice work! Don
