Hi Karen - manatees can be quite elusive - in spite of their size. Two of the volunteer manatee watchers showed me how to spot them. When I took the boys on the manatee tour they had a ball looking for the signs, then one would almost totally show itself and submerge before you could aim your camera!

Wow, I would never recognize that nose as a manatee. Interesting nautical framing.
