About This Image

The peacock is India's national bird. They are members of the pheasant family and are found in woodlands and forests throughout India and Sri Lanka.
Peacocks have been introduced to many countries all over the world and are kept at many stately homes in Britain.
This one was photographed at Moseley Old Hall a National Trust Property famous for its association with Charles II.
