About This Image

P.somniferum (Opium poppy). Fast-growing upright annual. Has oblong lobed light greyish-green leaves.
Large, single flowers to about 4in wide, in shades of red, pink, purple or white, are produced in summer.

This image was taken in my Newchurch garden, you could almost class these as wild-flowers.

Gorgeous shot of these poppies Chriss. Your shot shows the delicate structure of the flower and how the petals look like tissue paper. The colours are sooo very pretty, especially with the water droplets. :)
