About This Image

Florida sets out discs and platforms for the Ospreys who raise their young down here. The e nests are added to every year, but the hurricane winds blew away many last year. There are 5 nesting platforms in about a 2 mile stretch - all have residents sitting on eggs right now.

When I first arrived I asked about the platforms never knowing I'd see them occupied first hand. Now that the "No Vacancy" signs are out I'm hoping to see chicks before leaving here in two weeks. They are graceful and effortless fliers
