About This Image

Only 70 feet tall, this light casts a beam 14 miles out to sea. The day we stopped, the base was open to the public - but we were too late. Once again it was another overcast Outer Banks day!

I was wondering if you would comment on that, Mary - I have the photos of that tiny cemetery - it looks so forlorn - but there was no one around to ask about it as we got there too late. (I did get the British Cemetery photos though). Thank you too Carol - lately our WiFi has been really bad, so I'm exploring the tweaks and twists of my photo editing program. This "frame" is one of the distortions I manipulated.

If you get a chance, take a walk behind the lighthouse...lots of history there.
