This is by Lake Pontchatrain. Moss used to be harvested by people. It is not harvested any more and there are no moss gins in Louisiana. What was made with moss? Almost any thing that could be stuffed was stuffed with moss. This includes car seats, dolls, furniture and many other items. We should use this pineapple related plant again.

Thanks!! I really wish that would be one industry Louisiana would reconsider. I am going to be taking more pictures soon and posting more. I have a field trip coming up on the 25th of October and want to take pictures on it. It is my first field trip as a teacher. We are going to the Pontalba, the St. Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, Cabildo, Presbytere and Cafe Du Monde. All of these places actually surround Jackson Square.
