About This Image

A vase of mixed flowers standing on a windowsill, in Bonchurch Old Church, looking towards a small arch window.
This is the famous 'Old Church' thought to have been built on the site of a Saxon Church 1000 years ago by Monks from the Abbey of Lyra, Normandy.
Thanks for looking :)

Jas, this is beautiful. The bright flowers are the perfect accessory to the wonderful stonework of Old Church. THanks for the interesting information too. Great framing too. Vicki

Thank you Anne for your lovely comments on Heavenly Flowers. Yes, I'm sure the Monks were very devoted when building this serene House of God. I think the first windows were made during the 13th Century. Thanks for viewing. :)

How very beautiful - the flowers as well as the Old Church. I can just FEEL the devotion of the Monks as they built their house of Worship, adding the beautifuly crossed panes of window. I don't know when the glass windows came into being. They seem to be old also.

Thanks Carol, Janice, Mary and Karen for taking the time to look at this photo. Am so glad you all like this image; it really caught my eye when I was looking round the old church. I think it was they way the light came through the window and seemed to reflect the yellow colour, in the daffodils, on to the wall. :)

The natural lighting and textures make a wonderful frame for the colorful bouquet. Beautiful composition.

Jas, a gorgeous image of flowers on the windowsill of the church. I like the stone work. Window shots are one of my favorite things to photo.

Jas just beautiful. I love the way it is sitting in the window and how the light reflects off of it with the stained glass style window behind it. Just lovely

Very nice composition Jas! I really like the frame in a frame in a frame thing going on. It grabs your hand and pulls you to the beautiful flowers. Great job! Don
