About This Image

lavatera's pink flowers, or also known as "mallow". In our front garden patio area.

Believe this is a different variety than we've had before, will check the tag and enter the name later. We had "Silver Cup" lavateras before, and do have some of those this summer also, - but the petals look slightly different to these, and they are a paler pink than these. Love the lines or appearance of ridges in the petals of these flowers.

this is the most comments I've had for ages, Susan, many thanks :) These were very pretty, but for some reason they didn't seem to last very long this summer.

thankyou, Beverly. there are more and more flowers opening on this plant all the time, we are really enjoying it. the others of this type aren't doing as well as this one.

I love these Mallow flowers and had not seen any since my fall a couple of years ago. Ted used to take me for a drive past a meadow where the blossoms seemed to float above the stems - as we came toward them. And now I have seen them again - close up. Thank you.
