About This Image

This Magnolia was high in the branches of it's tree, not being scared of heights I clambered carefully onto the house roof and positioned my self safely and zoomed in to this beautifully open Flower.

I slightly improved the exposure but left the color alone as it was pleasing already and cropped it to locate the main part of the image into the magic third of the frame.

Thank you Steve for the feed-back and compliments, not sure of the correct terminolgy for the pollinating stem,Thank you Caol,Whittler and Alandra for your compliments,I haven't noticed the scent but it sure is attractive visually, they often sit in pairs on the tree. regards Vince.

beautiful magnolia, Vince. And I agree about the effort you went to, to capture this image. Do these magnolias have a lovely scent? It seems as if they do, just looking at them.

Sounds like a precarious procedure you undertook to capture this! I like the side on view rather than a more traditional top perspective. And the detail of the flower parts (not sure if these are anthers or styles) with their delicate hook like tips really comes across well.
