This is in front of a purple and gold, the school colors for Louisiana State University, house. The school colors are purple and gold due to Mardi Gras. The colors for Mardi Gras are purple, green, and gold. L.S.U. got the colors from Mardi Gras and that left the green for Tulane University. I do not know if that story is true or not but it is interesting.
