About This Image

This one is for you Alandra. Another little tug doing it's job. This is at the Port of Oakland. The container ship is the Manoa.

In September, 2000, a crewman on the ship on route from China to California, thought he heard a noise coming from one of the containers. Since the container in question was in the middle of the stack, there was no way to open it. Assuming it was Chinese stowaways, they cut a hole in the container to pump in air and provide food and water.

The Manoa made an emergency stop in Alaska and opened the container in question. it, they did not find anybody. (Just a few ghosts).

I like the composition, colors and clarity of the photo. Even the empty benches on the shoreline add interest to the photo.

thankyou, Alex, that's fabulous!, I love it. Aren't those little tugs "something else"!! Enjoyed the ghost story also : ) We saw a tug today, towing a huge load of what looked like sawdust on a barge, but we were further back from the river by then, so missed that neat shot. So many fascinating sights to capture, right. This is a wonderful hobby.
