About This Image

Thick oil application. Obviously, when adjusting file size down to 500px, much of the picture detail is lost. However, the original photo had a chain link fence completely negated by using a narrow depth of field when shooting. In "post-processing", the background portion containing the chain link fence was "dropped out" with the oil blender usng random strokes.

On the subject of adjusting digital image size:
Contrary to what many say, enlarging an image does not necessarily have an effect on viewing. No large image of any type is viewed closely. One has to step back according to scale to see the photo clearly. The pixelation is then resolved and the image detail is much more pleasing. For example, a 4x6" photo is view at 1 to 2 feet away from one's eyes (or closer). An 11x14" image is generally, and quite naturally, viewed at more than 2" away.
