I believe the flower pictured is a Lisianthus picked up at the local famers market. Lisianthus is a half-hardy perennial native to the North American prairie. In the wild, it is blue but the well-bred varieties come in other colors as well. Some have doubled petals and look much like roses.

The photo's frame was enhanced with using Canon's Photo Studio 5.5.
