About This Image

This is a Joshua Tree. They can be found all around where I live and in Kingman, Arizona to Las Vegas and beyond. These trees can go without rain for a year or more, it would be rough on them but they will survive because they get most of there moisture from the air. This Joshua Tree was in a driveway to a home and has been pampered and spoiled rotten. The ones out in the desert are smaller than this fat one. They are just now starting to bloom, the white blooms are on the tips of the arms or branches? I don't think of these as trees, it's just a cactus on steroids lol...

Your very welcome Anne, The Joshua trees are very different and some of them can have some interesting shapes. There like snow flakes, none of them are the same. If you ever get to California drive to the Joshua Tree National Park. There's thousands and thousands of them there lol..

This is an excellent shot, Alan. I like the fact that all 3 limbs? are bearing those big blossoms. I am glad you didn't get bit by one of the dogs there. I had never seen anything like this and can hardly wait to tell my son to come in and look at them. I really appreciated your kindness as I would never have seen them without you. *g* Thank you. Anne

Hi Mary, I'm always happy to share my views from Arizona. With the Joshua trees growing like weeds around here I did not think about everyone who has not seen them. The fence you see is around the house and the trees are along there driveway. Most of us out here in Golden Valley own two acres of land and only put up fences just around our houses. I took my photos from the road, there dogs were barking at me lol..

Thanks for sharing your part of the world Alan. I've never seen a Joshua Tree and I like the mountains in the background. Is the property fenced in...I notice the fence in the background.
