About This Image

Jewelweed, aka Touch-Me-Not. Mature seed pods explode and scatter their seeds at the slightest touch.

Thanks for the comments! The colors and composition weren't selected as much as incidental to the surroundings, with my wife holding the flower while we were seated at a park picnic bench. The surrounding grass providing the background. I usually heed the rules about not picking flowers, but that was much easier than trying to get down to the flower's level where it was growing, at the edge of a marsh!

I like the angle you've used for this shot Bruce. The backdrop colour makes sure that the eye focuses on the bloom itself and the colour of the flower is lovely! I agree with Anne; it does have a bit of an oriental look to it. :)

I like the clarity and the colors are so enjoyable to view. I feel it has a bit of oriental style to the photograph. Interesting photograph.
