About This Image

Along the remote Beach on the Eastcoast of the North Island NZ, we found these Jelly Fish. My dad and his
cousins have never seen anything like this before.
I thought they were beautiful. I did not see the
detail as the camera has captured.

Talsi thank you for the comment. the kids did not realise at first they were swimming among theses and 2 other varieties. .as soon as we realised they were all out of the water

Lord, you are lucky it didn't sting you when you picked it up - My son kicked one once and his leg swelled up and got all red for awhile afterwards. Anyhow, nice interesting image.

Bernie they were quite small Scott picked up one it was very firm like a plastic bottle blown up to much. I thought they were very pretty

Not in New Zealand. But once I found out the name and googled I found they was up in the thousands on Beaches in Brittan and Ireland. They are called Portuguese Man o war Jellyfish.

A very interesting series of the jellyfish.Its a sight I have never seen as well,do they always wash ashore like that?
