thanks very much for the encouraging comments, Don and Alex. Know exactly what you mean, Don, as have had the same thing happen with many of my hummer shots also, re the movement in their tail area as they are hovering. Guess it's like a rudder. also noticed that sometimes the feathers on their backs get "raised" from the wind generated by the wing rotation. Very interesting little birds.

Super sharp capture Alandra! I noticed a strange thing with hummer photos. Their little back ends and feet usually vibrate so much when they are hovering, it is nearly impossible to get them focused. They must work like a counter balance somehow. Great job on this one, Don
