thanks Alex D. Glad you like it. I like the bit of its eye that is visible. I'm up at the window hiding amongst the fronds in the hanging basket :) (this was captured the previous summer).

Sorry I did not see this before. Another amazing photo. It is a bit confusing, because of the disortion caused by the mirror ball makes it look like just about everything in the photo is a reflection. Hard to believe that we are looking at the back of the bird poised up against that ball. Simply a great angle on this shot. Love to see that detail on the back of the bird including the tail. You rarely see that on a hummingbird. Well done.

Hi Golda, thanks for the nice comments, - had just said the same thing to DH about the feathers resembling fish scales :) - maybe you're right about the other life too :)

Spectacular series of these little ones Alandra. The back of the bird looks as tho' it is made of some kind of fish scales. You seem to have quite a symbiotic connection with hummingbirds...another life perhaps???

Excellent photo Alandra! Love all of the colors, especially the tail feathers and all of the flowers. That is one big Hummingbird with it's beak on top of the house LOL..
