thanks again, Janice and Anne. Yes, I was hoping the birds would go near the flowers, so that I could get both in the images : ) and some did oblige. As you say, the head colouring on the bird does match the flower colour. These birds have just recently returned here. There are similar birds but with the white "crowns" also.

I love how the Gold crowned sparrow picked that exact spot to stop and look things over. It was as if he had picked the flower that went well with his colors - just purposely to get his picture taken. *g* A great picture!!!

Love this photo! Wonderful composition, Alandra. The yellow on the top of the sparrow's head and the yellow of the bloom, how nice. Texures so nice in this photograph.
