About This Image

Great Blue Heron keeping watch for Bald Eagles which were causing a lot of commotion at the nesting area this evening. I like the stance and the head crest in this one.

Birds are amazing aren't they? This blue heron makes a great sentinel - and gives us a picture of their protective side. We love to watch the Blue Herons and often go on a drive to spot one. Beautiful picture, Alandra

thanks Mary, glad you like it. Sentinel is a good name for him, I should alter the title. Was working on these around 4 AM this morning, so was rushing to get them uploaded : )

He looks like a sentinel..on guard. Beautiful shot. Are the Herons able to chase the Eagles away?
