About This Image

great blue heron with a stick in its beak, taking it to the nest it is building. The herons were going back and forth, from the area where the sticks are, to their nests. They are quite wary at this time.
Wasn't able to get very close, as the area is surrounded by water at this time, but it was interesting watching the herons from a distance, pulling at the sticks and flying away with them.

thankyou Karen, glad you like the bird pics :) This is a bird watcher's paradise, so it's hard not to want to get the images. One camera shop employee told me that my camera is "a workhorse", (didn't buy it from them) - and have often thought of his words.

Beautiful capture of this beautiful bird in action. You are getting so many great bird photos. Glad to see you putting that camera to work.

I love the wings in this shot, Alandra. They seem to me to look both fragile and powerful at the same time.
